It’s that time of the year again where the sun is beginning to shine making us excited for the summer and when it is out, we’re out. Whilst it is lovely to be out enjoying the sun, be aware that the sun can prematurely fade the pigment in permanent makeup

.
Permanent makeup can last many years, with good aftercare, however, by not following recommendations it can reduce that time significantly.
SPF If you have permanent makeup, it is really important to apply at least a factor SPF 30 to prevent your permanent makeup from fading! Make sure you read the instructions on the
bottle of your SPF to know when to re-apply.
For those who have permanent Lip Tattoo, Be sure to use an SPF specifically for the lips!
Accessories
Hats and sunglasses are the perfect accessory for permanent makeup. They offer extra protection when in the sun. So don’t forget to style up your permanent makeup with your favourite pair of sun glasses or a beautiful hat.
Of course, it is not just the sun that can fade permanent makeup. Other factors that can prevent longevity of permanent makeup:

Skin Products
Some skin products contain alpha hydroxy acids and retinal. Although great for the skin, not so great for permanent makeup. These ingredients are classed as rapid exfoliators, so avoid these when possible!

Laser Hair Removal
If you are having laser hair removal make your practitioner aware you have permanent makeup.
The energy of the laser can fade pigment of permanent makeup and can cause burning.
Remember!!
Although preventing premature fading is important, you also need to also make sure you book your 12-18 month colour boost to prolong the results of your permanent makeup.
